Re : BURMA AND COLUMBIA ARE THE PRINCIPAL
SOURCES OF DRUG EXPORTS TO AMERICA.

Two days ago I watched a television interview with General Barry ?
McCaffery who is the Drug Czar for the U.S. Government. He ended
the interview with the following statement. He said the A, B, C?s of the
drug trade was Afghanistan , Burma and Columbia. Afghanistan heroin
is primary exported to Europe. Burmese heroin and Columbia cocaine
is the principal source of drug trafficking to America.

In Columbia the elected government is fighting the leftist guerillas who
are financed by drug exports in collusion with drug cartels. The 25 ,000
strong rebel army controls large sections of Columbia. The elected
government of Columbia has requested a $ 4.0 billion four year
development assistance from the World Community and the U.S.
government has proposed to provide $500 million per year in military
assistance to the elected government of Columbia.

Burma too has its equivalent of the Cali and Medellin drug cartels. The
most prominent drug cartel in Burma is the 25,000 strong United Wa
State Army. In Columbia the elected government is fighting the drug
cartels. In Burma the SLORC/SPDC generals are in partnership with
UWSA and the UWSA is given a franchise by the SLORC/SPDC
generals to export drugs. Heroin is exported to America and
amphetamines to Thailand..

Since America is providing $500 million per year to the elected
government to fight drug warlords in Columbia, similar assistance
should be given to the Burmese democracy movement. Since the
SLORC/SPDC generals are in partnership with the UWSA drug
Warlords , the first goal of American foreign policy should be to
finance efforts to topple the illegitimate military government in
Burma.

It is in America?s national security interest to restore freedom and
democracy in Burma. A free and democratic Burma will not tolerate
drug trafficking . It will fully and completely co-operate with the
U.S. government to eradicate drug trafficking and it will promptly
extradite indicted Drug-Warlords.
