EU balks at investment sanctions dr

Subject: Re: EU balks at investment sanctions drive

In spite of the increased violence and terror, resistance from junta
authorities to cooperate with the United Nations human rights officials
including the Secretary General, widespread campaigns against the Karen,
Shan population, and alarmingly increasing drug flows, and recent
jailing of two European Community nations, the EU balks at increasing
its stance against the junta and does not pass investment sanctions or
widen sanctions to include even a ban against tourism.

Sad day for the EU community, its residents, and voters. And a victory
for the SPDC and its insatiable investors.

YOU TELL ME. WHY IS THE EU STILL COHORTING WITH THE DICTATORS? SEIMENS,
TOTALFINA, SCHLUMBERGER, PREMIER....european job security and business
profits for shareholders at the cost of freedom and democracy in Burma!
