An Excuse Not to Interfere in Another's Internal Affairs

  How many countries propose this excuse of not interfering with the
internal affairs of another country when they themselves have done the
such things before.

  Indonesia invaded E.Timor and other provinces in the 1970s not long
after gaining their independence from another intruding country
Portugal.  China invaded Taiwan about 700 years ago and more recently
invaded and or forced their way into Tibet and Xin Xiang in the 1950s. 
The Philippines are composed of thousands of islands with many seperate
cultures all forced long ago to live as one country.  The Shans, Karens,
Rohingyas, Mon and many other groups were invaded and forcibly
controlled by the Burmese Military for almost 40 years.

  This 'excuse' is a poor one.  The evidence is there to be seen.



MANILA, Sept 29 (Reuters) - The Philippines defended on Wednesday its
vote opposing an international inquiry into violence in East Timor,
saying it was in line with its policy of not meddling in the internal
affairs of its neighbours. 

"It is a policy of all of the ASEAN countries not to intervene in the
internal problems of a country," President Joseph Estrada said in a
radio interview, referring to the 10-member Association of South East
Asian Nations. 

He was replying
