Steinberg/ Asia Society & Pro Junt

Subject: Steinberg/ Asia Society & Pro Junta Publicity

Look, Asia Society was used as a floormat to promote the junta, right?
So who is interested in that in the US? Business groups, pro junta
business groups from Unocal down the NFTC line, and any of those
companies probably give grants to these professors one way or another,
to wag the corporate tail. Its an old story, very old from the days when
the CIA paid journalists and professors, right on up through the
National Student Association to your local state or private university.
Its not new news but should be looked into now as the pro business
groups are looking towards reversing President Clinton on the sanctions
issue, and a Republican victory in the next US presidential election
will not be good for Burma sanctions. That too is not news.
