Senior General Than Shwe offers rice and alms to Sayadaws, members of the Sangha and nuns in Mandalay Division
	
YANGON, 23 Sept - Chairman of the State Peace ,and 9 Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Than Shwe attended the ceremony of offering provisions to 527 Sayadaws and members of the Sangha from 167 monasteries and 157 nuns from 11 Nunnery Sarthintaiks of Aungmyay-thazan Township, Chanaye thazan Township, Maha Aungmyay Township, Chanmyathazi Township, Pyigyidagun Township, Amarapura Township and Patheingyi Township of Mandalay District, Mandalay Division, and offered rice and alms to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha and nuns at Maha Atulawaiyan (Atumashi) Kyaungdawgyi in Aungmyaythazan Township, Mandalay, at 8.00 am yesterday.
	
Afterwards, the Senior General presented rice and offertories to the Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Masoeyeik Taikthit Sayadaw and Chairman of Mandalay Division Sangha Nayaka Committee Myataungtaik Shwewawinkyaung Sayadaw.
The Senior General and party shared merits gained for the good deeds.
After the ceremony, the Senior General and party went to Kyaukse by car.
They attended the ceremony of offering rice to 54 Sayadaws and members of the Sangha and 35 nuns from Kyaukse at Thiri Sasana Dhammayon in Kyaukse.
		
Next, rice and offertories were presented to the nuns.

The nuns blessed the congregation.

The Senior General and party shared the merits gained for the good deeds.

Then, the Senior General and party offered soon to the Sayadaws, members of the Sangha and nuns.
