Senior General Than Shwe inspects greening 
work of Tantkyitaung  


 YANGON, 18 Sept - Chairman of the State Peace and
 Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence
 Services  Senior General Than Shwe and party left
 Magway for  Htaukshabin  Village Jetty, Minbu, by
 Z-craft  yesterday  morning.  The Senior  General
 and party  went to  Sandaku  Nanttha  Kyaungdawya
 Pagoda in Pwintbyu  Township  by car.  The Senior
 General  inspected  all-round  renovation  of the
 pagoda, and then paid homage to the  pagoda.  The
 Senior  General gave guidance on the work.  Then,
 the  Senior  General  and  party   inspected  the
 sandalwood  plantation.  Afterwards,  the  Senior
 General  presented  donations to the pagoda fund.
 Next, the Senior  General and party  proceeded to
 the  site  of the  textile  and  finishing  plant
 project to be implemented near Kanthagyi  Village
 at the  side of  Legaing-Pwintbyu  Motor  Road in
 Pwintbyu  Township  by car.  The  Senior  General
 gave guidance on the work and inspected  the site
 chosen for construction of the plant.  The Senior
 General gave guidance on the work for greening of
 Tantkyitaung.  Afterwards, the Senior General and
 party  inspected  measures  taken for greening to
 Tantkyitaung.  Then,  they went to  Pakokku,  and
 stopped for the night there.
