I also "had" doubts about the sanctions. I have discussed this with many Burmese who have suffered these sanctions and who would go back to Burma to continue suffering these sanctions. All of them say they can and will gladly continue to live under these most miserable
conditions. They believe that sanctions will bring down SPDC sooner than if we did not have sanctions. For their sake we hope all of us are right.

Of course, sanctions does not prevent any body or any organization from providing humanitarian aid to the Burmese (Karen, Shan, Kachin, Chin, Arakanese and others). Just remember that if any aid is sent through Governmental Channels, 80% of it would be siphoned off by the
Generals and their cohorts.
