Burma Out!! The junta gets it in th (r)

Subject: Re: Burma Out!! The junta gets it in the neck!!

You can count on the FRENCH fighting this all the way at the EU, and
with the installantion of a new Commission and Parlement there, presided
by who Chirac called "our noble compatriate", Nicole Fontaine to ushur
in the French interpretation for democracy in the next century, "towards
a real proress in Europe "des Hommes", so the French presidency of the
Commission says Chirac must respect what he called "moral values":
"These values which our democracies have known how to defend and impose
on Kosovo and which will now detail and elaborate a European Treaty of
fundamental rights". (Chirac to his 160 ambassadors in Paris, August 26
1999, at the Elysees Palace.)

Unless there is a strong push here in France to reverse French policy,
its going to be a tough fight for the French to let go of their
partner, the SPDC military in Rangoon.

Of course we hope they do sooner than later. (Remember early this year
that nonsense over the Rangoon Interpol conference, when the FRench
foreign minister, at the last moment, pulled out, citing "peculiar
circumstances"....:)
