Special Statement

Cruel and savage military leaders of SPDC/Slorc have been ruling Burma
since eleven years and a month ago today by means of the most possible
oppression and intimidation. Thus, more than 99 per cent of Burma's
population have become victims of the most brutal regime of the world --
being absolutely denied human rights and democracy.

Therefore, more and more patriotic organizations of nationalities express
their intention to rescue and develop their respective racial groups
issuing declarations and statements.

The latest organization to issue its "Declaration of Policy Statement" is
the Kachin National Organization (KNO) which reveals its main objectives.
It is the right time for it to reveal its political objectives because
today is the day of four nines -- symbol of victory for the pro-democracy
Burmese people.

Therefore, the Lahu Democratic Front (LDF) warmly welcomes the KNO
Declaration of Policy Statement and whole-heartedly and fully supports it
as a real comrade-in-arm.

Let us, all pro-democracy Burmese people, renew our most steadfast vow
today to jointly topple the brutal regime without fail before the fall of Y2K.
