Basic course on Myanmar traditional performing
arts and international musical notes opens
YANGON, 4 Sept-A ceremony to open the basic course
on Myanmar traditional performing arts and
international musical notes sponsored by Myanmar
Music Asiayon, was held at the building of the
Asiayon on Dhammadana Street, Natchaung Ward,
Tamway Township, this morning, addressed by
Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development
Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt. Vice-Chairman of MMA
Music Instructor of Bogalay Teacher Training
School Gitanetthan U Ohn Lwin (Retired), .
Vice-Chairperson of MMA Lecturer (Music
Instructor) of Yankin Education College Daw Thin
Thin Myat and Vice-Chairman of MMA Yebaw Khin
Maung Hla (Retired Lt-Cmdr-Navy) formally opened
the course.
In his address, the Secretary-l said the course
opened today is the first of its kind sponsored
by Myanmar Music Asiayon. In conclusion, he
urged all to strive for the perpetuation of
Myanmar traditional cultural arts and for the
preservation and uplift of traditional cultural
arts.
Then, Chairman of Myanmar Music Asiayon Accordion
U Ohn Kyaw spoke words of thanks and explained
the purpose of opening the course.
Vice-Mayor Col Maung Pa handed over documents
related to a piano donated for Myanmar Music
Asiayon by Yangon City Development Committee to
Accordion U Ohn Kyaw.
Then, the Secretary- 1 inspected the course on
international musical notes, the xylophone course
and the harp course.
The basic course on Myanmar traditional
performing arts and intentional musical notes
includes harp, xylophone and piano courses and
the course on realing and writing of
international musical notes.
The courses will last four months, and fees are K
1,000 per month.
