CCDAC Invites Historical Documents for Display
In Myanmar, works for prevention, combating and
elimination of
narcotic drugs have been carried out since ancient monarchical
days. In
the times of the government after 1988, due to cooperation of
national
brethren from border areas where poppy had been grown,
efforts could
be and are being speeded up in eliminating narcotic drugs in
Kachin and
Shan States, striving for regional development and carrying
out works
in cooperation with neighbouring nations. With the aims of
documenting
these efforts made throughout the consecutive periods and
enabling the
people of Myanmar and other nations to study these efforts and
the
youths, leaders of the future, to prevent the danger of
narcotic drugs
and steer clear of narcotic drugs, the museum on narcotic
drugs is
being constructed. The Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control
(CCDAC) is undertaking the construction of the museum and
works for
display of documents at the museum. The construction work will be
completed at the end of Year 2000, Documents, gazettes,
documentary
photos, video tapes, cassette tapes, paintings and sculptures
related
to efforts for elimination of narcotic drugs are required to
be put on
display. People are urged to help the committee by donation, or
renting, or selling these documents and objects to be
displayed at the
museum.
