THE RISING SUN VS THE SETTING SUN

THE RISING SUN VS THE SETTING SUN
***************************************************
By Julien Moe
1st September 1999

It is barely a few more days before the 9/9/99. The paranoid government's
troops keep searching for suspects , innocent students , arresting anybody
suspected of leading other students to participate in the 1999 uprising. The
propaganda war is also staged by the regime to discredit ABSDF, a student's
front led by the 1988 student generation. The SPDC has arms and ammunitions.
The students have the access to the foreign media that can be used as a
campaign tool to blow the lid off the human rights violations of the regime.
In order to deter the 1999 uprising ,the regime that has absolute control of
the state media has been spreading the propaganda news as to how ABSDF
disinforms the world and exeggerates the incidents in Burma. ABSDF keeps on
reporting and the media listens and consumes what the ABSDF feeds. The media
has been reporting events reported by ABSDF and the regime is angered. If
what ABSDF reported were fake news, would the media consume it and report it
through its channels? It is obvious that ABSDF is considered as a reliable
source by the media. Besides, it is a front whose existence is recognised by
the Central Intelligence Agency.

ABSDF is a student movement led by the patriotic pertinatious students who
sacrificed their family and friends back in their homeland. The front with
new leadership is carrying the day, informing the world with reference to
what is going on inside Burma. The front is not a forum founded by
politicians but by students who have determined to fight for freedom and
democracy in Burma, risking everything they have.

The sun on the west sets on a daily basis. The students see it every day. So
do the military leaders. The latter see it in fear. The former see it with
courage and determination. The sun in the hearts of the dictators is setting
unknowingly. The sun in the students' hearts just keep on rising and it is
shing through until the day Myanmar becomes a free Burma again.
