All the prodemocracy groups of Western Burma front unitedly formed "9999
Action Committee" on 23 August 1999 at New Delhi, India.
The objective of this committee is to call a mass people movement inside
Burma to;

(1) Recognize and support the agendas of CRPP.
(2) To increase public pressure on ruling military junta to held genuine
dialogue for National reconciliation with democratic forces led by Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi.
(3) To organize and lobby the Govt. of India to put pressure on Burmese
regime for the transfer of power to the people elected representative of
1990 general elections.
(4) To urge United Nations to take an effective measures, to enable the
peaceful transition of power according to the will of Burmese people.

This committee has undertaken various work plan, such as holding
demonstration, peace marches, seminars and signature campaign etc. to
enhance the awareness and to boost the moral of the Burmese people.

Appeal
Under the various pressure and harass meant the political, economical,
social and educational status of Burmese people have detonated to a
large scale. The demands from the people of Burma through 8.8.88 mass
movement were not at all met, because of treachery of the military
junta. The junta promised the establishment of multi party democracy
system in Burma, but they turned deaf-ears within these 11 years to what
they promise to the people and never respected the results of the 1990
general elections.
As such in today's situations the people of Burma will have to stand up
unitedly for their rights and will have to wage a mass Non-cooperation
movement against SPDC, for which, the students, monks, peasants, workers
and Govt. servants have to prepare and be ready for timely action.
