YANGON, 24 Aug-Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar U Win
Aung and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Dr Surin
Pitsuwan met local and foreign correspondents. at a Press conference on the
Fifth Meeting of the Myanmar-Thailand Joint Commission for Bilateral
Cooperation held today and the Senior Officials Meeting between Myanmar and
Thailand which was held yesterday, at Shin Dithapamauk Hall of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs this evening.
Also present at the Press conference were Ambassador of Myanmar U Hla Maung,
Ambassador of Thailand Mr Pensak Chalarak, Director (News) of News and
Periodicals Enterprise U Hla Tun, Chief Editor U Zaw Min Thein of Myanma News
Agency (Internal), Adviser U Maung Maung Nyo, Deputy Chief Editor U Maung
Maung Aye of the New l Light of Myanmar Daily, editors, Patron of
Myanmar Foreign Correspondents Club U Sein Win, President U Sao Kai Hpa
and members, correspondents of TV Corporation of Singapore and Channel 5 of
Thailand.
Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung said at the Joint Press Conference of
the
Myanmar-Thailand Joint Commission. That it is the first time that such a
Press
conference has been organized.
Then, the Thailand Foreign Minister answered the question of reporter U Hla
Htwe of Nihon Keizai Shinbun.
