Re: Ethnic Conflict and the Challenge of Civil Society in Burma
(Strengthening Civil Society in Burma)

Dear Martin Smith

Greetings!

I am reading your "Ethnic Conflict and the Challenge of Civil Society in
Burma" from "Strengthening Civil Society in Burma" published by Silkworm
Books.

I categorically object your usage of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's name. You wrote
her full name twice on page # 34 and 47. You also wrote full names of
General Ne Win and Lt-Gen. Khin Nyunt. But you wrote "Daw Suu Kyi" on page
# 19, 23, and 47. I learn these three names of Aung San Suu Kyi are not
quoted ones.

I am sure you know very well who use her name as "Daw Suu Kyi". You are one
of the few experts on Burma. The academics do not bias.

So I categorically disapprove your usage of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's name.
