YANGON, 30 Aug -Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the 
State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar 
has sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency 
Mr S R Nathan, who will be taking oath and assuming the 
responsibilities of the Sixth President of the Republic 
of Singapore from 1st September 1999.
