Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman's Championship 
trophy weightlifting contest began


YANGON, 21 July Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman's 
Championship trophy weightlifting contest began at 
the gymnasium in Aung San Stadium this morning.


    Secretary General of MOC Director-General of 
Sports and Physical Education Department CDI Thaung 
Htaik gave a speech and declared thc tourney open.


    Seventy-four men and 57 women of nine teams from 
ministries, three teams from states and divisions 
and three club teams are taking part in the contest.


    Also present on the occasion were Deputy Director 
General of SPED Lt-Col Thein Aung, the vice-president, 
the secretary and executives of Myanmar Weightlifting 
Federation, Leading Patron of Myanmar Women's Sports 
Federation Daw Aye Aye Tint, officials, guests and 
others.
