Military attaches visit factory and garden city


Y ANGON, 15 July-Military attaches from foreign embassies 
led by Deputy Chief of the Office of Strategic Studies and 
Deputy Director of Defence Services Intelligence Brig-Gen 
Kyaw Win and Dean of Military Attache Corps Military Attache 
of the Russian Federation Col Vladimir I Kontchakov visited 
the pencil and cosmetic factory of Myanmar Tokiwa 
Corporation in Pyinmabin Industrial Zone, Mingaladon 
Township this morning.


    Deputy Managing Director of Tokiwa Corporation Mr 
Yoshiaki Hgyakawa, members of the board of directors and 
officials welcomed them.


    Deputy Managing Director of Myanmar Tokiwa Corporation 
U Kyi Lin explained functions of the factory.
Later, the military attaches toured the factory.


    Afterwards, Brig-Gen Kyaw Win and military attaches went 
to Mingaladon Industrial Zone.


    They were welcomed there by Director-General of 
Department for Human Settlement and Housing Development 
U Arnt Kyaw and officials.


    They toured the industrial zone and observed 
construction works of Mingaladon Garden City.


    Chairman of Mingaladon Industrial Park Company Ltd U 
Win Myint and Managing Director Mr Toshio Komiyama explained 
works being carried out at the industrial zone.


    Managing Director U Khin Shwe explained construction 
works of the garden city.


    Afterwards, the military attaches observed the scale 
model of the modern golf course and model residential 
buildings.


    In the afternoon, they went to National Indoor Stadium-l, 
Thuwunna.


    They were welcomed there by Adviser to the Ministry of 
Sports Col Ngo Ciin Pau, Deputy Director-General of Sports 
and Physical Education Department Lt-Col Thein Aung and 
officials.


    They watched events of Golden Eagle Asian Badminton 
Championship 1999.
