Five-storey hostel opened at Yangon Education Centre for 
the Blind (Khaweigyan)
	
YANGON, 10 July -The inauguration ceremony of a five-storey hostel of Yangon 
Education Centre for the Blind (Khaweigyan) was held at the new hostel this 
morning, attended by Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council 
Lt-Gen Tin Oo.


It was built at a cost of over K 43 million. Also present were Minister for 
Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Brig-Gen Pyi Sone, Ministers at the 
Prime Minister?s Office Brig-Gen Lun Maung and Lt-Gen Tin Ngwe, Deputy 
Minister for Labour Brig-Gen Win Sein, Vice-Adjutant-General Brig-Gen Maung 
Nyo, Vice-Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Deputy 
Commander Brig-Gen Hsan Hsints Officer on Special Duty at the State Peace and 
Development Council Office Lt-Col Than Tint and departmental heads, 
Ambassador of Japan Mr Kazuo Asakai, officials and guests.


Patron of the Leading Committee for building the five-storey men?s hostel 
Minister Brig-Gen Pyi Sone, Ambassador Mr Kazuo Asakai, and General Secretary 
of Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blind U Thein Lwin formally opened the 
hostel.


Secretary-2 Lt-Gen Tin Oo formally unveiled the signboard. At the 
inauguration ceremony continued in the hostel, Brig-Gen Pyi Soe, Brig-Gen Lun 
Maung and Ambassador Mr Kazuo Asakai made speeches.


Afterwards, the Chairman of Yangon West District Peace and Development 
Council spoke about construction of the hostel.


General Secretary of Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blind U Thein Lwin 
presented the commemorative pennants to Secretary-2 Lt-Gen Tin Oo, Minister 
Brig-Gen Pyi Sone and Ambassador Mr Kazuo Asakai.
