Eligible voters of Monywa submit declarations 
expressing no confidence in NLD representatives-elect 
U Kyi Soe and U Saw Aung


YANGON, 9 July-Eligible voters of Monywa Township Constituency-l and 
Constituency-2 of Sagaing Division, submitted signed declarations expressing 
no confidence in U Kyi Soe and U Saw Aung who were elected as Pyithu- Hluttaw 
Representatives of National League for Democracy in the 1990 Multiparty 
Democracy General Election from Monywa Township Constituency-l and 
Constituency-2 and no support for them at the rallies held at 16 
village-tracts in Monywa Township-Sitbin, Nyaungchehtauk, Khewegyin, 
Mayoetaw, Paukpin, Kyunywathit, Nyaungphyubin, Thithsaint, Ywaton, Yekanzu, 
Kanbya, Tegyigon, Hsegyidaw, Nyaungbin, Taungmataw and Taunggya-on 27 June 
morning.
A total of 44,394 local people of these village-tracts attended the rallies.


Representatives of the voters in respective constituencies, presented 
declarations expressing no confidence in U Kyi Soe and U Saw Aung and no 
support for them signed by the eligible voters to members of Township 
Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-commission.


Out of 82,559 eligible voters of Monywa Township Constituency-1, 49,566 or 
60.03 per cent voted for U Kyi Soe of NLD in 1990 Multiparty Democracy 
General Election. The number of voters who presented signed declarations 
expressing no confidence in U Kyi Soe and no support for him totaled 67,777 
or 82.09 per cent.


Similarly, out of 81,434 eligible voters of Monywa Township Constituency-2, 
47,933 or 58.86 per cent voted for U Saw Aung of NLD in the election. The 
number of voters who presented signed declarations expressing no confidence 
in U Saw Aung and no support for him totaled 72,766 or 89.35 per cent.
