Is Burma a Japanese Province?

Is Burma a Japanese Province?
***************************************
Japan's policy on Burma has always been in favour of the military regime
despite unequivocal international criticism. No wonder japanese businessess
are ubiquitous in Rangoon and business sign posts and cars are painted in
Japanese scripts everywhere in Burma and one might mistake Burma for a
Japanese province if waken up suddenly in the middle of a nap in the middle
of a trip on a bus in Burma. The following is a japanese business-related
news piece on Burma. The news piece is from Business times.

New Toyo redeploys IPO proceeds

June
[SINGAPORE] New Toyo International Holdings is redeploying a portion of its
IPO proceeds of $40.2 million. It earlier indicated that $3 million would be
used to set up a corrugated carton box manufacturing plant and a lamination
plant in Myanmar. The company yesterday said it is not feasible at present
to set up the plant. The $2.2 million intended for the plant will be
redeployed in Hanoi for the setting up of a corrugated carton box plant
there. It is keeping the remaining $800,000 for the proposed lamination
plant in Myanmar.

Sincerely ,

Julien Moe
