as international response to the developments in the country inside. They also

? Although the Burma military junta of 1988 which is the new generation of
military clique of 1962 coup d'etal declared an acceptance of multi-party
democracy and market oriented economy. It detests democratization in the
country. The regime wishes to continue its hold on power, and any political
changes have been merely cosmetic; the regime has no real desire to introduce
democratization in the country. The regime wishes to continue its hold on
power, and any political changes to the have been merely cosmetic; the regime
has no real desire to introduce democratic reforms to the country. In reality,
the military junta jacks the ability to do so. Furthermore, the regime has
made
every effort to consolidate its military bureaucracy while unabashedly
destroying the opposition by all means. The military has continued their
strategy of striving for legitimacy and power through the National Convention
and the drafting of a constitution?.
3. The DAB heartily congratulates the National League for Democracy (NLD) and
Daw Aung Suu Kyi who are steadfastly fighting for the good of the people
although the junta has labeled the National League  for Democracy (NLD) as the
enemy and has used all means available to destroy it. The DAB recognizes the
fact that Nod's move to convene the people's parliament is crucial and has
been
a boost to the morale of the people of Burma who hate the suppression of the
military and are wanting to see changes in the country. The DAB reiterates its
support for the formation of the Committee to Represent People's Parliament
and
will work with the people for the realization of its aims .
4. A decision was also taken to review the working programs of the DAB . The
delegates to the meeting agreed that there is a need for the DAB to
consolidate
its organizational structure and to play a major role with the National
Council
of the Union of Burma along with other alliance organizations.

upon. At the same time, the delegates decided to urge the people to accept the
NLD leadership within the democracy movement and pledge to work for the
