ASEAN/EU TO HOLD TALKS IN MAY

ASEAN and EU have agreed to hold  talks in Bangkok in mid-May despite the
controversial disagreement over Burma's attendence to the meeting. Burma's
participation in the meeting had been blocked by EU and as a result the
meeting was postponed and cancelled over the last few months. ASEAN has been
insisting to include Burma in the meeting to be held in London last
month.According to  Michel Caillouet, head of the European Union's
delegation in Bangkok, the meeting is going to take place for sure with the
two sides, having compromised, granting Burma a passive role.
