Heroin seized in Kawthoung

Yangon, 3 March --- A conbined team comprising members of local intelligence
unit, Myanmar Police Force and departmental personnel, acting on information
given by a duty-conscious person, waited on Shwewatun Street in Aungthukha
Ward, Kawthoung, Taninthayi Division, on 23 February, searched Aung Myint, 35,
son of U Kyi Han of Kawthoung and Nyunt Oo, 49, son of U Hla Nyunt. 

 They seized 0.258 heroin kept in eight soap boxes. Further in the
investigation, the authorities combed the house of Aung Myint in Kawthoung and
seized 0.025 kilo heroin kept in a soap box hidden in the room behind the
house, A/99 brand two stimulant tablets and 40,000 bahts.

 Action is taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrophic
Substances Law. MNA
