          Regarding Human Right Violation by SPDC
                            january 9,1999

Tha-Ton District
* 29-12-98: Combined troops of SPDC army IB 96 and anti-insurgent
group led by commander Kyi Thwin went into Ee-Su-Khee village and
arrested 4 villagers namely Maung Toe, Ohn Shwe, pah Mu Wah and Maung
Ti and extorted 30, 000 kyats from them.

Pa-an- District.
*13-12-98: Troops from SPDC army IB 207 went into Po-way-lay village
and heat(7) women namely Kyu Lu Moe, 48 and Ma Aye Kyinag 30, without
any reason. *22-12-98: Troops from DKBA led by commander Ah Loo
shelling bombs and firing small arms into the village of Kaw Soo, in
Pata village tract which killed Daw Hla, 50 and severely wounded Naw
Nya Say, 24 Daw Nan Nu 60 and Ma Kyi Than, 10 kyaw Pi, 30 was also
slightly wounded.

Pa-Pun District
* 17-12-98: Troops from SPDC IB 60 led by battalion commander Tin
Hlaing Shwe went into Plaw-khee village, Dwai-loe township and burned
down 5 houses and one monastery. A total of 223 baskets of paddy were
also burned . Those troops killed and ate all chicken and Pigs found
in the village. *17-12-98: A column from SPDC army LIB 264 went into
Mae-toe-khee village and shot and killed Aung Than, 42 without any
reason. That column also went into near by paddy fields and took away
all villagers materials found and also burned down other materials
which they could not carry. The total of villagers materials taken
away and burned worth about 97,500 kyats. *19-12-98: A column from
SPDC army IB 60 led by battalion commander Tin Hlaing Shwe went into
Ka-neh-khaw-hta village and captured 26 villagers from 5 families and
took them away into Mae-waing village. That column also burned down
their houses which include 150 baskets of paddy. *19-12-98: Troops
form SPDC army LIB 264 went into Kaneh-khaw-hta village, Ma-lay-kyauk

village tract and took away 30 baskets of paddy, household materials,
utensils and 7 viss of chicken making the total worth 27 ,400 kyats
from Naw Thaw Nya and utensils, blankets and clothing making the total
worth 31,700 kyats from  Naw Dwai Po , Those troops also burned down a
hut owned by Saw Aung Kyaw from Mae-toe-khee village and 5 tins of
rice, 5 baskets of sticky rice and household material worth 22,000
kyats were lost in the fire. * 1-1-99: Troops from SPDC army IB 38,2
nd company led by commander Than Htun went into Lay-Po-hat village and
forcibly collected 1,000 kyats form every household to make a
devotional offering to maw-lor-klo pagoda. *2-1-99: Troops from SPDC
army summoned villagers and used them as forced labors for
constructing a road from Kam-Ma-Maung to Ka-daing-ti to carry food
supplies for the army. Villages whole had to sent villagers as forced
labor were 16 villagers from Lay-kaw-hti, 11 from Kyo-day, 16 from
Tha-gaw-play and 8 from Mae-kyi-hta making the total of 49 villagers.
