MYANMAR UNIVERSITIES BE OPEN NEXT MONTH

On 29th, a high ranking official of Myanmar Education Ministry
disclosed that in January 1999, Myanmar government will re-open a part
of high grade educational organizations, such as universities which
have been closed since the anti-government demonstrations in 1996.

Up to this time, the anti-government demonstrations of students had
labourers, citizens and monks drag in it and toppled the old socialism
government. It was a great power for renovation of the society.
However, the government judged that if they keep closing these high
grade education organizations, it might be impossible to bring up
persons of ability or capable men for future.
