FBC model of action

Three cheers and hurrah for the FBC freedom fighters. Perhaps the
example might inspire others, even frenchmen and women to do the same.
Of course, foreigners might be deported for disturbing the peace. But
its worth having a go. Perhaps suggestions and volunteers should send
suggestions to the action group here at InfoBirmanie
<agirici@xxxxxxxxxxxx>. They tend to stand across the
street the first of every month in protest, but perhaps on December 10
Human Rights Day, a human chain would not be an inappropriate protest
with press coverage on the spot and
TOTAL banners. What would the French authorities do on Human Rights
Day ? It 's worth
a go, isn't it, in this land of " fraternity, equality and liberty ", so
the French like to say...

ds (sorry, i cant do it, i could risk deportation as we know, in france,
the police are the law- and thats what the french say, no phone call, no
private lawyer, no habeas corpus, of course, it helps to know a few
ministers, that scares the hell out of them)

FBC: SENTENCING OF 12 FBC PROTESTORS
2 December, 1998 from <nculwell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Dear Fellow Free Burma Activists and Supporters:

In a federal court hearing in Washington, DC, a U.S. judge decided what
the
sentence for the 12 protestors would be: $22 fine each! While all
twelve
spiders pleaded guilty for having broken the law -- technically speaking
--
every single one maintained that Burma was a cause that deserves all the
support and attention from all freedom loving Americans.

The judge allowed all the defendents to read their prepared statements
without any interruptions.

The 12 FBC protestors were arrested on October 26 for chaining
themselves
to the junta's Washington, DC embassy entrance under a federal law that
protects foreign missions on U.S. soil.

The Burmese programs in Washington, DC -- the Voice of American and
Radio
Free Asia -- broadcast the news of the court hearings into Burma.

Thank you to all those who helped organize the successful protest on
October 26.

peace, love, and hope,
Free Burma Coalition
