(1)		Myanmar Apparel Company Ltd Opens Garment Factory
		A ceremony to open the garment factory of Myanmar Apparel Company Ltd was
held at the factory in Hlinethaya City of Industry, on 29 November. The
factory occupying 70,000 square feet was built on 3.7 acres of land in June
1997. The factory will produce jerkins and warm clothing, and now it is
producing about 1,200 items of clothing a day. If the factory works at full
capacity with full manual labour, it can produce 3,000 items of clothing a
day.

(2)		Diploma and Certificate Conferring Ceremony of Co-op Colleges
		Central Cooperative College and Yangon Cooperative Regional College held the
second ceremony to confer diplomas and certificates for 1996-97 academic year
in the hall of Yangon Institute of Nursing on 29 November. Since 1994-95,
Central Cooperative College, Yangon Cooperative Regional College and Mandalay
Cooperative Regional College have been opened; in 1996-97, Sagaing Cooperative
Regional College was opened, and Yangon Cooperative Regional College was
upgraded to a degree college with a view to conferring degrees. Cooperative
colleges are opened  with the aim of producing youths skilful in business, who
are needed for the success of market-oriented economic system being adopted by
the State, and it is necessary to have business knowledge and methods so as to
do business successfully. Central Cooperative College and Yangon Cooperative
Regional College produced 541 graduates of diploma course and 93 graduates of
certified accountancy course, and cooperative colleges including Sagaing
Cooperative Regional College and Mandalay Cooperative Regional College
produced 799 graduates of diploma course and 149 graduates of certified
accountancy course. Then, Chairman of Cooperative Colleges Administrative
Committee and Director-General of Cooperatives Department presented
certificates to 144 graduates of diploma course and certified accountancy
training courses.

(3)		Thailand Exhibition  '98 on 3 December
		Under the arrangement of Myanmar and Thailand economic cooperation
development programme, the Thailand Exhibition '98, organized by Thai
Department of Export Promotion and sponsored by TTF (Yangon) Co Ltd, will be
held at Tatmadaw Convention Hall on U Wisara Road on 3 December 1998. The
entrepreneurs from Thailand will display automotive parts and accessories,
personal goods, textiles,  pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, food,
equipment used in construction works, various kinds of painting and stationery
at over 90 booths of the exhibition from 3 to 6 December. Admission is free
and it will open from 10 am to 5 pm daily.

(4)		Myanmar Online Business Guide (CD-ROM) Shown at Computer Course in 
Mandalay
		A ceremony to open the computer course jointly sponsored by the Ministry of
Information and Forever Group and to demonstrate Myanmar Online Business Guide
(CD-ROM) was held on the first floor of Mingalar Market in Mandalay on 29
November. Executive Director of Forever Group elaborated on computer courses
and Myanmar Online Business Guide (CD-ROM).

(5)		Minister for Foreign Affairs Arrives Back from Abroad
		Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung arrived back Yangon from abroad by
air on 29 November  morning.
