Washington, D.C. - U.S.A. - 12 Protesters arrested after chaining
themselves to the Burmese Embassy.

  About 8 American University students including in 2 of those arrested
in Burma were arrested today before 12:00 noon along with a member of
Greenpeace and 3 others.  6 protesters had secured themselves to the
railing of the stairway and had to be cut-away with special equipment
that only the Washington, D.C. fire department had. Those 6 were
photographed as they were taken away.

  During all this, about 100 protestors chanted "Free, Free, Free Burma"
and cheered in support as they were taken away. The SPDC were cowaring
just inside the windows hiding behind the now closed curtaoins and
camera lenses as they photographed the event.

  The 6 removed from the steps, according to legal authorities, will be
charged with tresspassing and fined.
