USA

Visit by Amnesty International's Secretary General to the United Nations

Amnesty International's Secretary General, Mr Pierre Sané, will be
meeting with various UN officials in New York City to discuss ongoing
work on human rights issues. The meetings will take place on 20-22
October.

While in New York, Secretary General Pierre Sané will take the
opportunity to meet with the Permanent Mission of the United States to
the UN to discuss the recently launched campaign USA: Rights for All.

Other activities related to the USA Campaign include:

20 October, 6:30 - 8 pm: Panel discussion on Amnesty International's USA
Campaign: ?Human Rights are not just a Foreign Affair? - Amnesty

21 October, 5:30 - 7 pm: Address at the Council on Foreign Relations:

22 October, 11:00 am: Press briefing for the UN Press Corps. UN
Correspondents Association (UNCA), third floor, UN building.

22 October, 1:15 - 3 pm: Briefing for government delegates to the UN
General Assembly, on the human rights situation in the USA. 10 floor, UN
Church Center, 777 United Nations Plaza
