1):Burma reports fresh anti-Suu Kyi rally

Rangoon - The Burmese government said yesterday more than 21,000 people had
held another rally over the weekend to demand the deportation of opposition
leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who is a t odds with the ruling military.
A government statement said non-government groups held the rally, which
analysts believe was organised by the government, the fifth of its kind
since September 24 to express anger at Mrs Suu Kyi.

If you haven't heard of Bang Bong Tee, you soon will. The Karen village,
population 500, is on the Kanchanaburi-Burmes border. There, a road will
cross into Burma, and extend 110 kilometres south to Tavoy, on the Andaman
Sea. It is a key link in the Western Seaboard project including provinces
from Kanchanaburi to Chumphon.
