 According Support by Members of Parliament, in Resistance Area and Abroad,
to Committee Representing Parliament

1. We fully support the Committee, formed on 16-9-98, representing the
Parliament elected in the multi-party general election of 1990, and
Declaration No. (1), dated 17-9-98, issued by the Committee.

2. Since 26 members of parliament have died, 459 members of the original
485 remain alive. Inside the country, 251 members of parliament from the
NLD, including those who have been arrested and detained by the SPDC
arbitrarily, and from the fraternal parties of the NLD, have validly given
their mandate to the Committee. Therefore, the Committee has the power to
actualize, in compliance with law, the results of the election, including
the convening of Parliament, on behalf of the Parliament.

3. In addition, we the undersigned, who are members of parliament in the
resistance areas and abroad, confidently entrust our mandate to the Committee.

4. We resolutely affirm that just as we will help and support the work of
the Committee, so that it would be most effective and successful, we will
continue to work with utmost vigor, in any role, until the yearning of the
people for democracy as expressed in the 1990 elections, is fulfilled.
