Re:INFORMATION SHEET NO.a-05556(I/L)
====================================
It was only a few days ago when the military regime in Burma confirmed
that they had washed their hands off from providing security for Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi.
But, then, on August 12, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was again stopped and
prevented her from travelling to meet her party members in the Irrawady
division giving the lack of proper security measures as reasons for the
blockade.
Frankly, the situation is different from last months's SPDC's position.
On 7 August, she officially asked the SDPC not to provide her with the
security and the SDPC had agreed to her request and that was made
public. So, what's the problem?
These two conflicting measures clearly indicate a very much confussed
state of the present military regime. It is with much regret that we
have to witness that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is being made the focal point
of their conflicts. Don't let things get more complicated if we can
avoid through peaceful means.
At this juncture, we would like to point out that there is a real hope
to solve the political deadlock between the SDPC and the NLD peacefully
through dialogue. It's no time to waste and we urge the SPDC to come to
their senses and accept the call for a dialogue with the NLD including
the ethnic minorities without SPDC pre-selecting the composition of the
NLD's delegation for the dialogue.
In soliderity with the NLD's movements,
Minn Kyaw Minn
