Statement from " Burma Watch International "

The Burma Watch International , ( a society for human right ) in
Edmonton ,
Canada , would like to express our grave concern about the health and
safety of 1991 Nobel laureate " Aung San Suu Kyi " who has been stuck in

her car , for the sixth day , under unlawful restriction by the military

regime.
It is extremely regretful that a burmese citizen is being prevented from

traveling in her own country.

As Debbie Stothard , coordinator of the non governmental organization
has
said " six nights in a car is already too long for any normal person to
endure " and hence the BWI is very much worried that she may collapse at

any time.

The BWI strongly support the NLD 's call for the parliament to convene
by
Aug. 21 , and express its hope that dialogue be held between NLD and
SPDC
without preconditions.
