Realism But Not Rigidity Is The Solution

On the request of the NLD Executive Committee NLD personal physicians Dr.
Tin Myo Win and Dr. Pyone Mo Ei were arranged by the relevant authorities on
28 July morning to go to the site in meeting with U Hla Pe (NLD Ayarwaddy
Division Organizer) Mrs.Aris and their (2) drivers for medical check-up and
treatment if required.
Again, on 29 July arrangements are also being made for the (2) physicians to
go to the site for the daily check-up. More drinking water was provided to the
team due to their request but apparently the offer for food was turned down
since their own stock in the car has not yet been depleted.
In the opinion section of the 28 July 'The Globe and Mail' newspaper not
surprising but appalling statement was also printed in this article entitled
"Dog Days in Burma". To quote the line from this article, "That is why Aung
San Suu Kyi's peaceful intransigence during the ASEAN meetings" may be a
brilliant tactical move.
It is the hope of the Government that Mrs. Aris will realize the folly of
her uncompromising and belligerent stand and act according to the action
befitting one's own political status. More importantly foreign governments
and news agencies should also desist in fanning the fire by refraining from
backing the NLD up all the way and all the time land seeing things the NLD
leadership sees.
