End the Stand-Off: A Memorandum to

                          Memorandum
                           --------
July 27, 1998

To

	General Than Shwe
	Chairman
	SPDC
        Union of Burma

Subject:	End the Stand-Off.

Dear General:

I believe you are a man.
You have ordered your representative, U Ohn Gyaw, to UNGA to inform the
world that SPDC is committed to democratizing Burma.
You have advertized in your media that international tourists can now
visit everywhere they want except the some arm-conflict area, where you
cannot assure their safety. You mean Burma is a free and safe country
by doing so.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is traveling to Pegu division, which you have
proudly declared as place free from insurgency.
Prove that you are not lying to the world by letting Daw Aung San Suu
Kyi travel on her own will to the places to which even the unguarded
foreigners are allowed to visit.
Be a man, general.
Show you are a man.
Don't be that heartless and cruel to your fellow citizens.
Set the People Free Now.

Your manly action will be appreciated in our new history.

C.C Ko Okkar, for relaying this message to General Than Shwe and other
generals.
