(1)		Secretary-1 and Wife Leaving to Attend  Ceremonies  of   52nd Birthday
Anniversary of His Majesty  Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan  of Brunei Darussalam
		At the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin
Waddaulah,  Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam,   Secretary-1 of
the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt and wife  Dr Khin
Win Shwe left Yangon for Brunei Darussalam by air on 13 July to attend the
ceremonies of the 52nd Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
(2)		Weilaung Dam Commissioned into Service in Taungtha Township, Mandalay
Division
		Weilaung Dam has a storage capacity of 16,000 acre-feet near Weilaung
Village, Taungtha Township, was commissioned into service on 13 July. Weilaung
Dam is the 22nd dam built and commissioned into service in Mandalay Division
since 1988, and it is surrounded by Sindewa, Kyauktalone, Taungtha, Sunlun,
Taungpinle and Myaukpinle dams. Mandalay Division produces paddy as the main
crop as well as cotton, beans, sugarcane and edible oil crops.Ninety dams have
been built during the time of the Military Government. Located near Weilaung
village, Taungtha Township, the dam is 92 feet high and 5,550 feet long and
can hold water up to 16,000 acre-feet, it can irrigate up to 2,500 acres.
(3)		Over 3 kilos of Opium Seized in Kyukok (Pangsang)
		A combined team including members of Defence Services Intelligence Unit,
Special Anti-Drug Squad and Myanmar Police Force, acting on a tip-off, raided
the house of Ma Cho of Myoma Ward 8, Kyukok (Pangsang), at 2 am on 22 June.
The authorities seized opium oil weighing 3.05 kilos, six packets of khutku
weighing 0.00006 kilo and paraphernalia used in khutku hidden under the fuel-
wood at the kitchen. Action is taken against the culprit under the Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances Law by Kyukok (Pangsang) Police Station.

(B)		Chairman  of  the  Board  of  Pacrim  Energy  N L  of    Australia
Sir Barry Holloway   and party called on Minister for Finance and Revenue at
his office.
