7 July 1998 is the 36th anniversary of the Burmese students' clear and =
foremost movement against the military dictatorship which seized power =
from the democratically elected government on March 2, 1962.
=20
In the 7th July demonstration hundreds of unarmed students were killed =
and many more wounded  and  the historic building of the Students Union
=
was demolished by soldiers of dictator Ne Win.  The same Ne Win and his
=
terrorist armed gang have been oppressing the whole Burmese people, =
including pro-democracy  and anti-military activists, up to now.

Therefore, the Joint Actions Committee for Democratic Burma:

-- Strongly condemns all actions taken by the SPDC military  =
dictatorship+ADs-
-- Wholeheartedly supports the NLD call for convening parliament between
=
June 21 and August 21, 1998.
-- Fully supports NLD resolutions of May 27, 1998+ADs-=20
