Myanmar Leader Meets CHINA'S Yunnan Vice-Governor

           YANGON (May 19) XINHUA - Myanmar leader Lieutenant-General
           Khin Nyunt, first secretary of the State Peace and
Development
           Council, Tuesday met with visiting Vice-Governor of China's
Yunnan
           Province Niu Shaoyao and discussed with him trade and
economic
           cooperation. 

           The two sides expressed the hope that trade and economic
           cooperation between Myanmar and China's Yunnan will be
further
           strengthened. 

           Niu, who heads an 11-member Yunnan provincial economic
           delegation, arrived here last Wednesday at the invitation of
Myanmar
           Deputy Commerce Minister Myo Tint. 

           During the visit, the Yunnan delegation also held discussions
with its
           Myanmar counterpart on the promotion of the province's trade
ties and
           economic cooperation with the country.
