In the area of Sanglaburi, Three pagoda pass and Halokanee,
since first week of March, some Thai employers took the Burmese employees to the Three pagoda pass on their own program and handed over to the Burmese Immigration Department there.

The Burmese repatriated from the Immigration Detention Centers also increased much compared to the past. In the past usually one
ten-wheel truck-load was repatriaded in a week. Now it was 2-3 truck-loads per week.

The Burmese handed over were usually interrogated by police and No: 5 Military Intelligence there. But up to now there were no detention camp there to hold the repatriated Burmese.

When those repatriated arrived Ye township, they were told by the No: 61 Infantry Battalion that the army would transport them to their home. But, in reality, they were taken by trucks to the Ye-Tavoy rail-road and subjected to forced labour.

On March 28-29, the repatriated people were also forcibly conscripted at the Ye bridge. They were told that they had to work at the rail-road and would be provided 10,000 kyat for their labour. But in reality they got nothing for their labour. The army unit doing this portage is Infantry Battalion-343.

There is a big check point at that bridge. This check/searching team was composed of personnels from Immigration, Custom, Police, Foresry, No 5 Military Intelligence and USDA. They search and interrogate the repatriated people there. During the interrogataion and search, they usually extorted money and confiscated personal belongings from the repatriated people.
