> KATHMANDU, Nov 16 - Chairman of People's Forum for Human Rights-Bhutan (PFHRB), Tek Nath Rizal, has completed eight years of confinement in Chamgang jail in Bhutan since he was abducted from Nepal on November 16, 1989.
> Two of his prison mates, recently released after four years of imprisonment, said Rizal is being subjected to torture by the Bhutanese regime, according to a PFHRB press release received here today. The PFHRB has several times appealed the international community to pressure the government of Bhutan for Rizal's immediate and unconditional release. It has repeatedly condemned the repressive actions of the Druk regime on pro-democracy activists.
