(1)		Livestock and Fisheries Development Bank Opens Branch in Mandalay
 
		Minister for Commerce Lt-Gen Tun Kyi attended the inauguration ceremony of
Livestock and Fisheries Development Bank's branch in Mandalay on 26 October.
The Livestock and Fisheries Development Bank was founded in Yangon on 15
February last year, and it is providing financial assistance to the livestock
and fishery entrepreneurs and other entrepreneurs. It was founded with a
capital of K 2 billion and it has 4,000 shares valued at K 500,000 each. A
share-holder can purchase 200 shares and one who has purchased 10 shares and
above can be elected a director.
 
(2)		Dipavali Festival Preliminary Ceremony Held at Padonma Theatre
 
		A preliminary ceremony for the Dipavali Festival organized by All Myanmar
Hindu Central Board was held at Padonma Theatre in Sangyoung Township on 26
October evening, attended by Minister for Religious Affairs Lt-Gen Myo Nyunt,
Chairman of All Myanmar Hindu Central Board Shri G S Sharma and Chairman of
the committee for organizing the preliminary ceremony Dr D B Limbu. Dr D B
Limbu extended greetings. Shri G S Sharma spoke about the ceremony. Next,
Minister Lt-Gen Myo Nyunt delivered an address. Dipavali Message of All
Myanmar Hindu Central Board were then read in Myanmar, Tamil, Hindi and
Telegu, followed by Hindu cultural performance.
 
(3)		Myanmar Delegation Leaves for Singapore
 
		Myanmar delegation led by Director (News), News and Periodicals Enterprise
left Yangon by air for Singapore on 26 October 
to attend the Third Workshop on Information Management for ASEAN Public
Affairs/Information Officers to be held from 27 October to 8 November.
 
(4)		Director-General Leaves for Thailand
 
		Director-General of Office of the Central Trade Disputes Committee left
Yangon by air for Thailand on 26 October to attend the 1st Organizing
Committee Meeting for 3rd ASEAN Skill Competition to be held in Bangkok from
27 to 30 October as member.
 
 
 
(5)		CSO Staff Officer Leaves for Singapore
 
		A Staff Officer (Statistics) of Central Statistical Organization, Ministry
of National Planning and Economic Development on 26 October left for
Singapore to attend the Third Training Programme on Management of
Macroeconomic Policy, Policy Planning and Co-ordination, jointly sponsored by
the Government of Singapore and the Government of the Republic of Korea
(ROK). The course will last from 27 October to 8 November and be run by the
Centre for the Study of Transitional Economics under the Department of
Economic and Statistics, National University of Singapore.
