(1) Myanmar Delegation Leaves to Attend Second Meeting of Myanmar-Singapore
Ministerial Level Working Committee
Secretary-1 of the State Law and Order Restoration Council Lt-Gen Khin
Nyunt left Yangon by air on 3 October for Singapore to attend the Second
Meeting of Myanmar-Singapore Ministerial Level Working Committee. The
Secretary-1 was accompanied by Minister for Hotels and Tourism Lt-Gen Kyaw
Ba, Minister for National Planning and Economic Development Brig-Gen Abel,
Minister for Transport Lt-Gen Thein Win, Chairman of Yangon City Development
Committee Mayor U Ko Lay, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyunt Swe.
(2) Myanmar Delegation Leaves for China
Myanmar delegation led by minister for Social Welfare, Relief and
Resettlement Maj-Gen Soe Myint left here by air this morning for the People's
Republic of China at the invitation of the Minister of Public Affairs of PRC.
(3) MoU on Economic Cooperation Signed
The Union of Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and the Korea Chamber of Commerce
and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding on economic cooperation at
the Sedona Hotel on 3 October. Then, they discussed economic cooperation, it
(4) First Batch of Myanmar Teams Leaves for Jakarta
The first batch of Myanmar teams led by Officer on Special Duty at the
Ministry of Sports Col Thaung Htaik left Yangon on 3 October for Jakarta,
Indonesia, to participate in the XIX SEA Games. The team includes 133
athletes from men's and women's football, Wushu, shooting, yachting, rowing
and information and medical groups and managers.
(5) Farm Equipment Handed to AMD
Shiroyama Shoji Co Ltd of Japan donated five harvesters and one
transplanter. The hand-over of agricultural equipment was held at
Agricultural Mechanization Department, Kyaikkalo, Mingaladon Township, on 24
September. Manager Makio Yachi of the company handed the equipment to
Director -General of AMD U Win Maw.
OFFICE CALLS IN YANGON ON 3 OCTOBER
(A) Minister for Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development
Affairs Lt-Gen Maung Thint received Minister at the Office of the Prime
Minister of Thailand Mr Werakorn Khumprakob at his office.
(B) Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Mya Thin received Minister at the
Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand Mr Werakon Khumprakob and party at
(C) Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission Brig-Gen Maung Maung received
Managing Director of Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Mr Wan
Kee Minn of Republic of Korea at Myanmar Investment Commission Office.
(D) Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen Tin Aye received Minister at
the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand Mr Werakom Khumprakob at the
deputy minister's office.
