(1)		Hlinethaya Industrial Zone Management Committee Office,     
		Factories Inaugurated 
		Hlinethaya Industrial Zone Management Committee  Office and 
factories were inaugurated at Hlinethaya Industrial Zone, Hlinethaya
Township, on 12 September. The inauguration ceremony held at respective
venues were attended by Secretary-1 of the State Law and Order Restoration
Council 
Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt, ministers and officials concerned. The inauguration
ceremonies of Tokyo Pipe Factory, Hlinethaya Paints Factory, and Myanmar
Beautex Garment Factory were held in front of respective factories.
Similarly, the Taiyi Footwear Factory signboard was unveiled. Then, the
opening ceremony of, Opal Garment Factory was held in front of the factory at
Hlinethaya Industrial Zone. Department of Human Settlement and Housing
Development of the Ministry 
of Construction reclaimed Hlinethaya Industrial Zone section 5 in 1996 and
allotted plots to entrepreneurs beginning 1 
March 1997. The section covering a total area of 69.29 acres locates 217
plots of various sizes. Hlinethaya Industrial 
Zone Management Committee Office at a cost of K 5.1 million, built by Steel
Stone Co Ltd in December, 1996. Later, 
the inauguration ceremony of Tabinshwehti Street was held at the street. The
street, 8,282 feet long, built by 
Department of Human Settlement and Housing Development, links Hlinethaya 5th
Street and Insein-Nyaungdon Road. 
Then, Topping -Off ceremony of Gymnasium was held in FMI City (Padaythabin
Myodaw).

(2)		YIT?s Technology Diploma Courses Commence
		Rector of Yangon Institute of Technology U Nyi Hla Nge today extended
greetings to the trainees admitted to the Technology Diploma Courses to be
conducted at Yangon Institute of Technology with the co-sponsorship of
Myanmar Engineering Association and YIT Welfare Committee. Altogether 1,400
were admitted to the diploma courses.

(3)		Japanese Government Donates $ 50,000 Relief Supplies for Flood Victims
		Japanese Government presented US $ 50,000 and relief supplies- blankets,
towels, gasoline, batteries, soap, and washing powder for victims of floods
which occurred in some regions of the country in July and August. Charge d?
Affaires ai of Japanese Embassy Mr Koichi Kawakami handed the donations to
Director General U Saw Thein of Department of Relief and Resettlement.

(4)		Relief Goods Distributed to Flood-hit Villages in Bago Division
		Cash and relief goods were provided to the flood victims of 
Daik U, Nyaunglaybin and Shwekyin Townships in Bago Division for the second
time from 5 to 7 September. Relief goods included 1,650 bags of rice for 63
villages and medicines, kitchen utensils, blankets, longyis, plastic sheets,
personal goods and cash were also distributed.

OFFICE CALLS IN YANGON ON 12 SEPTEMBER

(A)		Secretary-1 of the State Law and Order Restoration Council Lt-Gen Khin
Nyunt received Mr John Dauth, Special Envoy of the Australian Foreign
Minister, at Dagon Yeiktha of the Ministry of Defence.

(B)		Member of the State Law and Order Restoration Council Minister for
Forestry Lt-Gen Chit Swe received Mr John Dauth, Special Envoy of Australian
Foreign Minister, at the International Business Centre.

(C)		Member of National Convention Convening Commission Chairman of National
Convention Convening Work Committee Chief Justice U Aung Toe received Mr John
Dauth, Special Envoy of Australian Foreign Minister, at his office.
