Fresh meadow grass magazine

Fresh meadow grass magazine

In a society where freedom of expression is strictly prohibited, the media
is partisan and fanatic. In the ASEAN community, a new comer Burma should
not be weighed against any other partial democracies. The press is free in
the Kingdom of Thailand and as U Kyi Maung pointed out, even Indonesia has
relatively a free press. It is different if the publications stand on one
side e.g. like the books on theories and assumptions of Communism or
Socialism. They try to convince the readers to accept the respective
ideologies.

But if the public media is monopolized and misused, it is different. One
example of defame publication of the SLORC is "Myat-Khinn-Thit" or the
"Fresh meadow grass magazine." It prints out exclusively false, lying,
villainous, counterfeit and improper information. This can help neither
the people nor the rulers. The Fresh meadow grass magazine places the
exile opponent at bull's eye. Like all the people inside, I am not the
reader of it. As the Myat-Khinn-Thit writings are groundless, no one wants
to make response either. But...

In 1997 July issue, there was an essay titled "doc. Tint." The author, Win
Htut Oo wrote on me.
He wrote: I came to India through Tamu-Moreh border.
Actually I crossed Indian border through Mizoram, not at Tamu-Moreh
border.
He wrote: My family came to India along with me.
My family followed after 4 years.
He wrote: Peter and Sun Aung (from Shwe Bo) came to India.
U Peter never came to India. There is no one from Shwe Bo nor U Sun Aung
in the NCGUB.
He wrote: My family and I had to bribe the police on our way to Calcutta.
I did not go to Calcutta from Moreh. My family has never been to Calcutta.
He wrote: On my arrival, the Indian intelligence asked me the list of the
NCGUB before announcement of opening the office in New Delhi.
I never announced so. I became the member of the NCGUB years later.
He wrote: David Yang, CIA, and MI 5 gave me money.
I did not receive any fund from them whom I have never come across.
He wrote: My granddaughter is one of my staffs.
She is only 3 years old and how can it be? My staffs are Indian-Burmese
boys.
Apart from these solid mistakes, I do not understand what was written for.
The names, the organizations, and the places are totally unknown to me.

The second part of his article was personal allegations against the First
Lady of India, Daw Tint Tint (a) Mrs. Usha Narayanan. He remarked that she
was a Good Second Hand. It is completely unfounded. She is a respected
lady with good reputation. The President of India, Shri K.R. Narayanan and
his wife are well-known supporters of democracy struggle in Burma. By that
mere reason, I don't see any excuse to accuse her in such a way. It is a
shame for Burma to live under the rulers of this kind. I want the readers
to know how foolish SLORC is by printing an article insulting the
President of India and his wife.

Fresh meadow grass magazine is just food for cows.
