A metaphysical reason for ailments striking Rangoon

A national convention was established by the State Law and Order Restoration
Council (Slorc) to draw up guidelines for Burma's constitution. The National
League for Democracy has boycotted the convention since November 1995.

The Burmese military gangsters are trying to become a member of the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations. In a bid to help them, one
tremendously selfish leader of the Vietnamese Communist Party,
Secretary-General Do Muoi visited Rangoon.

After his arrival, he experienced headaches. Why? Perhaps it is because he saw
the Burmese people's situation, yet ignored it, and went on a visit to the
golden Shwedagon Pagoda. He probably had the same thoughts as Thai Prime
Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh did: ''How many tonnes of gold is in this
pagoda?"

His golden thoughts were soon replaced by headaches.

Similar ailments have struck Slorc's leaders. Headaches stemming from disputes
over the Mahamayatmuni statue have afflicted them. Maybe the kind of heart
disease that some of the Slorc generals suffer from is not related to their
diet but to their misdeeds against the Burmese people.

They have stolen state power because it was not bestowed upon them from the
people. They are unsuitable to govern Burma. They are trouble makers and
dictators, and unfortunately, so are their friends.
