"Daw  Aung San Suu Kyi  released from  house arrest" 

Rangoon; The  Burmese opposition  leader, Ms Aung San Suu Kyi,  was  relesed  
yesterday  from  two  days  of  confinement  at  her  residence, but  police  
blockaded  the  offices  of  her National League  for Democracy(NLD).
Ms Suu Kyi  left  her  compound  by  car to  attend  a wedding  ceremony  and  
national  day  celebrations.
" She has  been  released  from  confinement " the  aide  said.
Ms  Suu  Kyi was  accompanied  by  military  intelligence  officials  and 
members  of the  NLD  youth wing.
Ms  Suu Kyi  had  been  prevented  from  leaving  her  house  since Tuesday, 
following  the  biggest  student  protest  in  Burma  since  the  military  
junta  came  to  power in 1988.
The  blockade  of  the  approaches  to  Ms  Suu  Kyi's  house,  mounted  after 
 600  demonstrators  were  rounded  up  by  riot  police, was still  in place.
Police  also  surrounded  the  NLD  headquarters  about  two  kilometers  from 
Ms Suu Kyi's  residence.
