I think the very fact that this question is being asked proves that this 
person fundamentally does not understand the meaning of democracy or 
human rights.  

It reminds me of George Orwell's 1984, in which War is Peace and 
Ignorance is Strength and Freedom is Slavery.  Except, in this case, it's 
not fiction.
