Burma: President Of Mitsubishi Meets With Govt Leaders
RANGOON (AP-Dow Jones)--The president of Mitsubishi Corp., the nucleus=
of Japan's largest business groups, has met with the top leaders of the
military government to discuss investment prospects in Burma, the state-o=
New Light of Myanmar reported Wednesday.
President Minoru Makihara and a five-member delegation met with junta
chairman Gen. Than Shwe; Gen. Khin Nyunt, head of the secret police; Fore=
Minister Ohn Gyaw; junta deputy chairman Gen. Maung Aye; junta second =
Gen. Tin Oo; Agriculture Minister Gen. Myint Aung, and Adm. Maung Maung =
prime minister and chairman of the Myanmar (Burma) Investment Commission.=
Mitsubishi concluded a memorandum of understanding with the military
government for investment and economic cooperation in March 1995. No form=
agreements were signed following the most recent meetings.
