Purging the Laho-scrap



Those of you still overwhelmed by the Laho-avalance, try the
following, by wich you can purge the messages on your service
provider's computer without downloading them to yours:
"TELNET" to your service provider using your "username" and
the "password" of your Mailer. The server-name TELNET will
prompt you for is the same what appears at the right side
from the @ sign in your email address. That is: 
<username@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
next type "mail"
you will get a number of messages waiting to be downloaded and
the list of the first twenty.
delete the first ten with the command:
"d 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10"
type "quit" - this is important! This makes the computer to 
execute the previous delete command.
then type "mail" again, and you will get a list 10 items shorter.
Repeat the whole procedure.
Doing it in batchs of ten makes sense, because you see the messages
you would not wnat to delete, and there is no need to type big and
long numbers.
When ready, or just tyred of it, leave TELNET typing "exit".
